Black Irish (102,255)
by Mariahsbaby from usa
| |
|
|
Mariah won the trademark thing, they sold the name. All Mariah does is win win win. It will for sure hit the international markets and with the right promotion including sending a bottle to her celebrity friends and fans lol and doing more singing promo ads. It will do wonders. I personally love this drink although I hate to drink.

"It's a Wrap" on the Hot 100 (102,254)
by Edward from USA

Things don't work like that anymore. People stream more than listen to the radio. If it gets enough momentum on the main streaming platforms, radio would pick it up eventually. Some stations have started playing it.

It is because of the lack of label support from IDJ records to send it to major radio stations across various formats.

It did debut on r&b digital tracks at #22 - something like that. I think that's sales, however. I don't know how it's doing on streaming outside of Spotify.

Does anyone know why it hasn't chatted yet? It seems to be very popular and the Spotify numbers are good. Even the young'uns where I work are walking around singing it or recognize it when I'm singing it lol.

Mariah's Cookies fail (102,250)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
I would respectfully disagree. If she marketed them silently and no one knew that they were associated with her at all, then I would say they are for the general public. However, Mariah knows that invoking her name really is only for the lambs at this point because the general public no longer follows her career and products in any real meaningful way. Therefore, using her symbols, colors (pink yet lavender), name and sayings on stickers on the boxes, she is aiming at the lambs. And if your business model has gone from promising warm delivery to offering no delivery, then you got a problem. I frankly think all of her business ventures would do better if she was "secretly" behind the product and no one knew she was "behind it". The same thing will happen with "Black Irish". It would have done better if she was a silent partner and not had her symbol all over the bottle.

Mariah's Cookies fail (102,247)
by Matty from Vancouver Canada

Who was asking for them? I think some people get confused between Mariah the artist and Mariah the business entrepreneur. In business, some ideas stick and some don't. I don't think her business ventures are meant for the Lambs. It's not a fail, it's an "Oh well, that didn't work. On to the next." All celebrity corporations try and test similar products, most fail. That's business and capitalism.

TikTok video with Kim K. (102,249)
by Bobby A from United States

Mariah is looking really slimmed down in her new It's A Wrap video with Kim Kardashian. It's funny that Nick's two exes make a video together with song about a man's last chance with his woman.

Mariah's Cookies fail (102,248)
by JC from USA

It's a saturated market (including warm cookies) and was likely in sufficiently funded (and certainly promoted). I don't think it was intended to be a forever thing. Some great things aren't meant to last.
I think it was a lowly-invested effort to test the market, similar to the Irish crème. If she were to do F&B/cookies, she should focus on Advent or days leading up to Christmas. Did we expect to see Mariah pushing cookies for years? Her brand/white label deals have always been short-term. Automatic Princess anyone?
What I would love to see is something with Pharrell now that he's the CD for LV. I made my friends watch Say Somethin' video to celebrate, filmed in the four story LV store in Paris. I don't think Mariah ever expected commercial success for that song, but supported the idea of Pharrell in control and used it to help him out. And now, here we are...

Mariah's Cookies fail (102,246)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
It had been a minute since I last ordered Mariah's Cookies, so I thought I would order them today. To my mind, the pleasure of them wasn't just their relatively good flavors but also that they were delivered to your home and they were already warmed. Well, it seems those days are over. I used the Mariah's Cookies app to try to order for delivery in my area and delivery is no longer available. I was directed to DoorDash and I can't find them on that app either. I called the local restaurant (Bertucci's) that used to deliver them and the person indicated "yeah, technically you could come here and get them but I haven't had anyone ask for them". Bertucci's is also going out of business in my area.
Clearly, something is bust with the former business model for these cookies and they haven't exactly taken off in my area (Connecticut). Have folks had different experiences than my own? For what it's worth, even though they were costly, I enjoyed them and liked the flavors and the fact that they arrived at your front door warm.

Keeping up with Mariah (102,244)
by Mariahsbaby from usa

I live for this moment, Roe and North were super cute and they did an additional TikTok by themselves celebrating Riri's B-day. I'm so happy for Kim, she and her sisters are such huge fans, they are always playing her music in the background around the year dahling. The fact that they posted the video at the same time and Mariah has over 1 million more views is crazy aka queen of TikTok. I also love the fact that Kim posted it on her story on Instagram.

P!nk's Trustfall (102,243)

This new P!nk album is so good. It is a brilliant piece of work that takes you on a ride through multiple genres. I have just as much P!nk music items as I have of MC. I just hope MC has a new album coming like Trustfall. She needs critics and the pop world to take notice again.

Pick 5 favorites re-imagined by the same producer (102,242)

I would love for Mariah to work with Blood Orange/Devonte Hynes again. I loved his first album as Blood Orange and love the "True" EP that he produced with Solange. I always wished that Solange had cut an entire album with him rather than just six or so songs.

I was thinking this morning how MC's You're Mine (Eternal) and Keyshia Cole's Stubborn definitely have that Rodney Jerkins signature sound. Then I thought about wouldn't it be cool if MC released an album of her favorite album tracks re-imagined by the same producer. Here are my five favorites that I would like re-imagined: 1. You're Mine (Eternal) - Rodney Jerkins 2. Ribbon - Christopher Stewart/The-Dream 3. Giving Me Life - Blood Orange 4. Meteorite - Q-Tip 5. Shake It Off - JD/BMC/JA You know I had to have a JD track. Lol.

Caution vs. bullshit (102,239)
by Todd from Sydney, Australia

|

So I was in the car today, and Caution (the song) was playing. A mate in the car said "is she saying bullshit?" And then I listened and around the 2:15 mark after the bridge when she's singing "Caution, caution caution...", there is one or two of them that sounds like bullshit. Could almost make sense given she then says "don't be dishonest..."

I am not sure Mariah would be all that interested in doing a Superbowl half time show - the workload required would be massive. I think it would be awesome if they did a "Divas Live" type setup with a bunch of 'divas' sharing the stage - Mariah, Ariana, Madonna, Celine, Beyonce, Gaga, Whitney on the screen - I'd tune in.

I'm not saying Mimi can't shine at a Superbowl performance, but I will say don't ever count her out. When they think that she can't do something, she sets out to prove them wrong. The Emancipation of Mimi, for example. She just needs to focus, her catalogue speaks for itself. Now, where the hell is new album and The Rarities 2?

Super Bowl (102,223)
by Edward from USA

I think Rihanna should've waited for the next Super Bowl. The halftime performance was visually stunning, but the energy wasn't there. If Mariah could walk unaided and with her 90's voice, she could've definitely pulled this off better than Rihanna. When Mariah was in control of her voice, she exuded confidence and put it all out there. I could see a Madison Square Garden Daydream Mariah pulling this off, but right now, she shouldn't even entertain the idea. She would probably get to the Halftime late anyway.

I just found my CD copy of MC's September 11, 2009 concert at Pearl in Las Vegas. I recorded it from a download link on the old Mariah Daily website. Her vocals are phenomenal. Does anyone else have it on Mp3 or CD? 18 songs were sung on the first night out of 4 nights for the residency.
