It's the way I view Mariah escaping a potentially career ending, controlling situation with Tommy to only end up with Stella, who one could surmise was more controlling (keeping possession of Mariah's phone so LA Reid couldn't get ahold of her). Morgan had a bigger role to play in how she's shaped as an artist (she has songs alluding to these experiences) and individual and her biracial background experience, which is why it was important to mention him versus mentioning someone like Stella and James who were small bleeps in her career. Another line of thinking for me would be Stella and James they both probably have NDA with Mariah working both ways, so that is probably why she didn't mention them too. Although I would have loved to read about Mariah's current thought on one of her career ending eras which is Stella. (Monday 19 July 2021; 19:05)

She would gave been genius if she had designed some exclusive wrapping paper, perhaps with her own artwork. She didn't mention Stella, James P and Walter got a line or two, she could have quite easily written of her troubled upbringing without writing what she did about her siblings and mother. Lots of artists have sets on Lootcrate and frankly, Mariah generally didn't cash in on her notoriety alone in her golden years. Leave her be. He was cool when thinking he was the leading man, but when that didn't pan out, he acted like a toddler with a tantrum. I also didn't like him encouraging MC to show her ass for the show. His suggestions were awful and she took them. After NYE his butt was fired. He tried to save face by claiming his contract had simply ended. Anthony was a diva on the show and you certainly don't change a line up prior to a huge event without getting the ok from the boss. You absolutely don't prevent them from leaving. He wasn't the problem, but he added more to them that night. The only thing I understood from all of this is Mariah still wants some dreamlover to rescue her. She doesn't take the lead. She gives the reigns to everyone around her. Mariah wants to be taken care of and that's what this boils down to. That doesn't work when you're the boss. You need to lead and take care of yourself by demanding what you need and don't hire anyone that can't meet those standards. (Monday 19 July 2021; 05:31)

However, Stella spent years on producing Love and Hip Hop or whatever that VH1 show is called. It's almost as bad. Once Mariah got on board it turned into Stella's World. A behind the scenes look at her creating songs and putting a tour together could've been interesting. It is originally what everyone tuned in for. It's noticeable how over 4 million people tuned in for the first episode and it dropped by half for the second. (Monday 19 July 2021; 05:13)

Three different version were put on YouTube before they were taken down from fans at the event. AI mixed and matched the performances together badly. But her vocal health (for live perf) needed a lot of rest, hence she was imprisoned to be always vocally ready. It's not being addressed but the Mariah, that Daydream era, existed only once. The rest were sprinkles of what she can do, covered with prerecorded tracks and dodging notes. We want her to be the amazing vocalist we loved. But she refuses to deliver that, instead she say "I'm a songwriter first." She knows it, that is why she is "The Elusive Chanteuse", Mariah herself can't deliver. (Monday 19 July 2021; 01:12)

I was just laughing at your storytelling, like you were a fly on the wall in so many circumstances. All I needed was more dialog. But I also agree with others that she needed vocal training early on and may have trashed her voice early in her career. There are lots of drinkers and smokers who sang well into their older years. That said, she had a week's rest in between each stop on the European leg. By the way, I attended the London Daydream tour and it was one of the greatest spectacles I ever beheld. Mariah's vocal decline (98,383) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines It's a confluence of so many things. Her lifestyle, her technique, aging, individual differences, etc. - especially individual differences. I know people in their early 30s who avoid dairy, try to live clean and rest well and yet they still can't sing as well as they did 5-10 years ago. On the other hand, I also know some people who are pushing 50 who live their life to the absolute fullest, indulging in their unhealthy habits and vices frequently, and can still deliver vocally today as they did when they were in their 20s in terms of range and power, just more mature sounding and a tad less agile and fluid. Mariah's vocal situation is unique, and I feel like that's one of the reasons that make her voice such a fascinating subject, because it does evolve with every release. Of course I would love her to still have the effortless, buttery tone she had in 1995, but I wouldn't want her to be stuck there either, as it was the grit in her more mature, older vocals that lent a stronger sense of conviction and character to many of her songs Butterfly onwards, that she would not have otherwise convincingly pulled off had she sung it with her the ostentatious, less nuanced delivery her voice allowed her to do during her first 5-6 years in the industry. I'm sure that apart from what Pat has taught her he has not had any proper vocal training. She had overstressed her vocal cords at the very beginning of her career. I'm sure that is the reason she had not toured until 1993 and all her 90s tours were rather short ones. Remember she laind in one of her interviews that she lost her voice in the late 80s, then she quitted smoking. I'm sure that is why her voice was changing from album to album in the early 90s. Re: Someones Ugly Daughter's voice (98,368) (98,380) by T from USA That's what I mean, yes the stress could make you loose your voice (see Shania) but Mariah's was more of a damaged quality thing, drugs and alcohol wouldn't have done that so fast after his control was up. (Actually his control lasted up until [Butterfly].) It happened specifically between [Daydream] and [Butterfly]. The only thing she did in between those two was a rock album where she was seriously lashing out with her voice, to keep her sanity. We don't know how much she pushed her voice in the making of that.
