Re: Another book review (96,448) (96,449) by RibbonB from USA
Binaka is fully tied into all the Stella drama, lies, stunts. She just keeps him on payroll because she needs company, can't be alone. When she wants another place filler, she will just treat him like the employee that he is, with no further mention. Did you notice the one picture of Rae Rae, where she referred to her as her assistant or something? Mark Sudak was also in that picture and she never mentioned his name. Everybody conveniently forgets him. He went from photographer to "work boyfriend", finally getting co exec producer credit on Emancipation and E=MC2, I believe. She paid dearly for his silence. IMO.

Re: Another book review (96,444) (96,448) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, I feel similary. The childhood chapter felt honest and heartbreaking. The stuff about the family even more sad, also she were talking about some things before. The chapter about moving to NYC at the end of the 80ies was exerciting. I think the sing sing chapter wasn't a surprise for most of her fans either. I enjoyed "the story" about Derek Jeter and all the great songs he inspired her. Her love for Christmas and Marilyn Monroe was also nice to read. The few words about Nick Cannon says a lot too. I was surprised that Mr. Tanaka hasn't got an own chapter. That she didn't talk about Stella and that time is understandable. Too embarassing also I still wonder why that happened at all? One member of MCA was wondering about the Christmas song with Pat. I thought they same, it makes little sense to do a song with her, if she was so bad to her. The epiloge was nice, that everyone should protect their dreams. I would have added "and check sometimes if it's still your dream because it can change". Just a few thoughts after reading TMOMC. Plus I love the pictures inside of the book.

What part of legally she can't talk about James do people not understand? Also she's still dealing with legal issues evolving the Stella era. Fans don't thing logically sometimes.

Re: Another book review (96,444) (96,446) by Lyric from USA
I agree. She definitely omitted a lot of information. She can't really discuss Stella for legal reasons but she completely skipped over her last few albums, James, her vocal decline (which she will probably never acknowledge) and the last quarter of the book seemed like she and the co-writer were in a hurry to wrap things up. I could have done without a lot of the Tommy info since I've heard it all before. I found myself incredibly bored during the Sing Sing section. I would love if she released some other tidbits to go along with the book.

Re: Another book review (96,443) (96,444) by ADAM from USA
I also read the book plus listened to the audible book. I really enjoyed the intimacy of hearing Mariah in her own words and hearing her choke up during the difficult periods of her life and sing some lines of her catalog. I felt it was definitely a treat for the fans and I was here for it. As far as revelations go, I was very surprised at how rushed the second half was. Most of the book was spent on her childhood and then she omitted such huge portions her life and def needed explanations - James Packer, Stella, aging, her vocal decline. It was startling to say the least. How are you "engaged" to a public figure like James and not even recognize this fact in your history. Completely bizarre. That area of her life will always read like she was a expensive call-girl. Inconvenience fee for wasting your time? Really? She really needed to explain this desperate period of her life where she flaunted money everywhere and was out of touch with reality. I wasn't expecting her to be 100% candid but it's like she rushed it or didn't know the deadline. Alas, I don't think she'll produce a sequel and will explain these areas of her life. Does anyone else feel similarly?

Another book review (96,443) by Will from Australia
I just finished the book along with the audiobook. I kinda wish I hadn't listened to her read it as it constantly sounded like she was channeling Catie from Mean Girls and that got a bit much after a while.

I wish there was more on the men, Derek Jeter gets no details about the breakdown of that despite several chapters about the build up. Nick Cannon gets a sentence or two but that's a shade thing I think. Tanaka passes by without much notice. And the remission of Eminem was irritating, she wrote two songs about the grub. Even James Packer should've been touched upon, their relationship was the most media coverage she's received outside of Christmas in years.

The bypassing of the bipolar diagnosis was strange to say the least, she had it very publicly outed.

The whole Stella saga was a pivotal moment in her public perception so not mentioning that period, again was bizarre.

The "my mother is the devil incarnation for calling the cops while I went psycho and I'll never forgive her, but hey she can lay some vocals on this Christmas carol I'm putting down 9 years later and my family ruined Christmas and I have horrible memories of my family but anyways let's have a Charlie Brown Christmas". WTF, ain't that bipolar defined.

And the music. Really it's why we're all here for her. I would love a whole book about each song she's ever recorded and the inspirations, that's the real meaning of Mariah.

Nervous tick / new album (96,442) by Lyric from USA
Has anyone else noticed a strange tick with Mariah lately? In nearly all of her interviews for The Rarities and her memoir, she is grinding her lower jaw/grinding her teeth. It's especially noticeable during her interview with Stephen Colbert. I've never noticed this until recently, I'm wondering if it's nerves/anxiety or side effects of medication. It's a bit distracting and I love watching her interviews. Also her sitting at that weird angle to hide the left side of her face is getting old lol.

As far as a new album, I'd love new music, especially since I'm sure Mariah has been writing new music during quarantine. But with the pandemic and its inevitable after effects, it's just not feasible. I want Mariah to get the full experience out of an album release: concerts, meet and greets, etc. Maybe this nonsense will be over by 2022 and she can drop something.

LOB is also constantly on my mind. The band is superb as is her freestyling. I'm a huge Jazz fan anyway and I'm pretty sure if Mariah would do an jazz album a lot of people would buy it. Her current voice is predestined for it. She could record some classics and a few own jazzy songs. A Jazz album is more needed than another Christmas album (in my opinion).

Re: New album (96,431) (96,434) by T from USA
I would like one more full length album eleven tracks (ten was almost perfect but a tad short). Her first album was eleven tracks so it would be a full circle moment. I'd hope she would focus on jazz and urban a/c music and have no features. Just her and her voice. After that she can do just legacy stuff and Christmas. But I would feel cheated if she doesn't do one more in the studio.

New album (96,433) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I highly doubt that MC will release a new album within the next year. I feel like the pandemic has slowed things down for everybody. Also I doubt that MC has put thought into a new album, and era because she has been focusing on being a mom, and keeping her children in a happy, and safe environment during these uncertain times. If anything I believe that she will release another full length album in 2022. Hopefully by that time the pandemic will be under control a little bit better.

Jazz album (96,432) by Will from Australia
I didn't think I'd like LOB but it's infectious and I can't stop listening and singing it in my heart. That style of music I think fits perfectly with where her voice is at now. I think it's time to just transcend into alternative projects like a jazz album or duets even gospel although her voice probably couldn't hold up there.

I don't think we'll get a new album for many many years. I get the feeling that after Caution and The Rarities' lukewarm reception. I wonder how many albums her contract called for with Sony? Aren't they normally three? With #1 to Infinity, Caution and now The Rarities, maybe that's it?

Ariana Grande (96,429) by Bobby A from United States
I am just wondering if part of the agreement for Ariana Grande to do anything Christmas with MC was to wait until after her album is released for an official announcement. Didn't MC announce her Christmas concert dates around this time last year?

Viral moment (96,427) by We are lambily from USA
I forgot to share this with you guys, Mariah's interview with V magazine about us voting is one of my fave articles from her. "We've been socialized to believe that poverty is a personal failure rather than our systems failing us." This is hand down one Mariah's top 10 quotes. So powerful and so true. It went viral all around twitter, and people started to change the name for her albums. Some faves were: The Radicalization of Mimi, Me. I am Mariah. The elusive democratic socialist. Somebody also said Mariah Carey could write the Communist Manifesto but Karl Marx couldn't write [All I want for Christmas is you] which made me laugh so hard. I love woke Mariah, I hope she shares more of this side. Lol.
