Edward, Music Box is pure pop? Is definitely her most "pop" album but it clearly has strong elements of R&B and even Gospel.

They are amazing. One Night, Here We Go Round Again, All I Live For have that Motown sound. It looks like another great end during the last quarter of the year.

Bill, there's not denying "Everything Fades Away" is a masterpiece, but Music Box being pure pop, in my opinion, it just doesn't sit well with the rest of the tracks. It's so weird UK fans can't imagine Music Box without it being the closing track. I can't imagine it following "All I've Ever Wanted". I think EFA would sit well in any album with "Slipping Away", "Do You Think OF Me", "Thank God I Found You (Make It Last)" and "My All (Stay Awhile) Non-Rap".

I think she is saving other rarities for a Rarities 2 album. Hypnotized wasn't included. All In Your Mind demo, although Mariah said it was only a comp and wanted to share the short clip? The Crave Song? Heard of this but never found an interview where it's mentioned. I would have liked I Feel It included from TEOM. It was so soulful.

Listening to this song, half a bottle of wine down. How people can't acknowledge this as the perfect, true ending to Music Box is baffling. This song is incredible and heart wrenching and beautiful. It is one of the best things she has ever done. I implore the US fans to make a Music Box playlist with this as the closing track once it is available on streaming platforms on 2nd October. It is just the most perfect end to what is a great, great album.

The Rarities tracklistings (95,471)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |

I'm kinda shocked that with all the investigations we did, we still got it wrong. Lol. Being an avid Lamb like I know most of us here are I still never heard of tracks like "All I Live For", "One Night", "Can You Hear Me" and "Cool On You" (I hope this isn't one of Jermaine's because if I hear one more "Y'all Know what this is"). Anyways, I am really excited for this record although we could've been fine without "Everything Fades Away" and "Do you think of Me" instead replacing them with "Into The Light" and "Alive" or Even "Skydiving". Like most Lambs I'm most stoked for the original "Loverboy" version JLo stole. Hehe.

Me too. I'm praying the end of the celebrations concludes with the debut album remastered, with the "original" album that you mention, and the demo versions/Tommy demo tape.

Oh the shade of Mariah when asked about the Christina Aguilera song from Mean Girls and she claims she doesn't remember initially and then proceeds to get every other 99 questions about the movie right.

I agree, but (and there's always a but) I also wanted the songs from her debut album, in the way she wanted them, but couldn't release because of her contract with Columbia records. There are other versions of VOL and the rest of the album that she liked better. I'm still hoping.

Hilton I think you are on to something. She would need a feature to get radio to play it and the general public to be interested in it. Drake is the only choice if she can pull it off and get the label to send it to multiple formats. Didn't he post a pic of Mariah from Dreamlover with a heart a while back? Getting the song to number 1 would be the best form of karma. Plus Drake is the male version of Mariah when it comes to petty so I'm sure he would be down for it. He used to date I don't know her, so using him to get a historic number 1 when I don't know her used her ex to do the same thing back in 2001. The blogs wouldn't stop talking. Now that would be a juicy story.

Well it looks like Memoirs is not saying remastered on MC's website because it is the vinyl from the limited edition Memoirs box set from 2009. I am still going to purchase anyway because of the chance it may be 150 grams. Merry Christmas is the same imited edition vinyl that was released in 2012.

I just thought about the eclectic list of producers on The Rarities. Could Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have produced Out Here On My Own for the Glitter soundtrack? And since James "Big Jim" Wright was MC's musical director at the time of Lullaby Of Birdland's live recording then he has to be listed as the co-producer. I am pretty sure Loris Holland and Randy Jackson co-produced Mesmerized. Daniel Moore will probably be listed as the co-producer on Close Your Eyes (Acoustic).

Sure thing Tevin. You receive a live in the studio sound with vinyl records compared to CD's. The higher the vinyl gram quality a vinyl record is the better the sound. Most new vinyl records are 150 grams and up. Remastered vinyl records are even better. I recommend the Audio Technical belt drive turntable. They are really a reasonable priced excellent quality turntable. I have one myself. I am planning on purchasing their direct drive turntable soon. In order to play their turntable you will need a music system unit that has an auxillary port connection (red and white plugs). Then you will need some good quality bookshelf or floor speakers. The vintage floor speakers to me give you the best sound. However, newer bookshelf speakers are good too. Stay away from the speaker brands like Curtis, Emerson, and GPX. The sound quality with those brands is horrible. Check out your local Goodwill or other thrift stores for a good quality music system and speakers from brands like Sony, JVC, Panasonic, and Philips. That's how I created my music system. When you get your first turntable, I will send you a vinyl record as a gift.

The Spanish versions of her hits were okay, but to me the best tracks on that album were her duets with Luis Fonsi, Cuando No Es Contigo and my favorite cover of hers, Contigo En La Distancia.

Robert do you have any other suggestions for purchasing a record player? I was thinking about jumping on the vinyl bandwagon to see how I like the sound. Is there any difference in sound quality with vinyl vs cd?
