Mariah's memoir (94,620) by Scott from USA Mariah said very early on in her career (First Vision), that she was way more inspired by gospel than rnb. Walter said years later that she listened to rnb 24/7 and her music was always going to go that way. I've always wondered if she always did love rnb and if the record company just made her say certain things at the start of her career. Maybe the memoir will clarify this. It doesn't make sense now to me to just release a remastered version of Mariah Carey to celebrate her 30 years in the business.
