Slipping Away (89,745)

So we just gonna act like Mariah didn't sing "Slipping Away" a few hours ago. Lol.

Slipping Away live and vocals (89,744)

What the actual [...], she sang a handful of lines from Slipping Away a capella. Come on Mimi, just add it to your playlist, we're here for it. I honestly feel the Caution tour has the most diverse, experimental and exciting set list of all her tours thus far. Finally something different. And I don't know where she pulled these 90s-esque vocals out of, but I'm shook. Is European air fresher or something? Daydream tour, SSF tour, and now this leg of the Caution tour, what's up with that?

This is way too funny. I love how she rephrased the post as well. I'm so happy she practically referred to Celine as a friend. Does anyone know whether Celine has interacted with M's post or the video in general? I know M probably doesn't dislike Celine but it seems like lately the only time she "knows" Celine is when she's reminded of how Celine tried to out stage Aretha back in 1998. Celine is too likable to be disliked. I'm still praying for that duet. I know, same old tired topic. But I have the right to dream.

Love to read all the reviews. Royal Albert Hall really must be so special. A tour DVD of it would be very welcomed. I also prefer a smaller venue for Mariah. So it's really perfect. I read that the one in Paris will also be a smaller venue and not a stadium. I wish I could go there or in Hamburg but this time I can't. Are any of you lambs going to see her on the next dates in Europe? I hope to read more of your experiences with the Caution tour.

I went to the show on the 26th and I was blown away yet again. Sure, there were some parts that were lipped, but the extra whistles, the strength in her voice surpassed all that. Now that she's more comfortable performing she's having more fun with the songs and the set list and it showed. To decided to do Endless Love was a great touch and one that I think no one expected from her. There was a great balance between the older and newer songs and it all just felt and sounded so right. Cannot wait for her next tour, and to be honest, I hope she sticks to the smaller venues.

Watching the clips, how I wish I could have afforded tickets to see her. Endless Love with Trey was just magical. I wonder why she didn't sing it with Lionel when they did their joint tour. Honestly, the love and friendship between MC and Trey just transcends out to the audience and shines through with every look they give each other. Wonderful moment, I hope it now becomes a tour regular for the remaining dates and in the future, as it's been far, far too long since we've heard this gem.

Robert, they may not be collaborating with her because of all those negative things. But it also could be as simple as the fact that she's considered an icon. No one really hits up Madonna, Stevie Wonder or Streisand. If those legends want collabs, they are the ones who reach out. I think most people would be honored.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I heard Cross Me on the radio. It would have been so nice for MC to have sang with Ed Sherran on his new album project. So, why is MC not asked to duet with the pop singers of today on their albums? Is it because of her diva ways? Is it because she is only viewed as a R&B/Hip Hop singer these days? Is it because her voice is so unpredictable these days that many pop singers are afraid to ask their labels for approval? For the latter, I don't think she can pull off a television promo without upsetting the other artist with her need to have perfect vocals or utilizing a backing track.

I have not read the other responses yet but I think vocal "evolution" may not be the right word to use. While Mariah's Rainbow tour vocals may not be that popular with some, her voice that time was full of confidence, something the latter years would have lacked.

Randy, you are so shady yet so wrong. First of all Celine wishes she could sing like Mariah even today. The only thing Celine can do better than Mariah is lipsynching for her life.
Mariah in Dublin / Royal Albert is much better vocalist than Celine in her prime, although she has amazing songs, her voice never moved me like Whitney or Mariah's.
We all know Mariah's voice is so unique and tender, her nodules did give her the amazing ability to sing high as well as low but it has created more problems lately.
The fact that Wendy Wiliams knows more than a fan is hilarious. Here is a video where Wendy defended Mariah when she performed on BET aka #Beautiful remix. Please watch it.

I thought her voice sounded bad in 2008-2009 and that her third peak was when she was during the Merry Christmas II You era.

I literally just laughed out loud. For a moment, when I read the caption, I was afraid they were going to sing together and Celine was going to murder her. Oh I know, MC can hold her own against Celine if she's had a decent night's rest, she's only singing in front of fans, her ear monitor's working, her dress isn't too tight, it's 72 degrees in the room, there's 20 humidifiers around her, her nodules are not flaring up and she's in Capri.

1990-1994 I see as one era, centred by the Unplugged album. Despite how the studio albums sounded, her live performances and vocal delivery always sounded similar to the Unplugged album, in that her voice was soft, delicate, yet with a warmth and resonance behind it with a sharp impeccable upper register. With Daydream, both studio and live, her voice really changed. It sounded more nasal, but had more strength behind it. And it never really was the same since. She had some peaks since, in 2001, 2005 and 2008.
