I couldn't agree more. We have lost so many greats and Mariah is still here by the grace of God. Let's show her our love while she is still here.

No disrespect to anyone here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Having said that, I don't think anyone except Mariah should decide what kind of music or album she wants to put out. She's so much more than we give her credit for. I wish she would release another comeback album just to show you all. Please give her the flowers she deserves while she is still with us. She's a musical genius.

"Wee bit too sensitive to opinions contrary." Oh yes. Sadly it seems nowadays a trend worldwide. I remember a time [where] different opinions weren't taken negative. Good times. And the people seemed happier. Anyway who wants to start with something positive? Anything?

I agree, probably the most ridiculous is still the name Zillion Heir. I don't know that he will inherit that much by the time it's split a zillion ways.

Lol. Stacey, I am a middle school special education teacher. I see and hear everything. I have two small group classes and three co-teaching classes with a control freak. He treats me like I am his assistant teacher. You know I live for the weekends by Friday. Anyway, we are just ready for a new album from MC. At least when she posted pictures in the studio, we knew something was on the way. She doesn't do that anymore.

Can't blame me, lol. I haven't posted much the past few weeks. Been too busy as school has started back. P.S. I teach high school special Ed.
P.S. Is it really negativity or folks getting a wee bit too sensitive to opinions contrary to their own. Asking for a friend.

At this point, I would take Caution Part 2. MC just needs to stop all the talking about recording new music and just make an announcement that MC16 is on the way. What MC needs is to record a couple of songs with two legends- Darryl Hall/One On One and Peabo Bryson/Feel The Fire and she could be #1 in 41 countries like Ms. Britney Jean.

Going on and on about Nick Cannon's reproductive habits on Mariah's fan page is weird. How in the world is a black man's family life any of your business to the extent that you need to go on and on about what you imagine his psychological profile must be? It's weird that you don't feel weird doing that.
Having said that, yes. I wish I didn't have to read about his behavior or his thoughts anywhere because what I do know is more than what I would like to know. But my goodness, can we not just look away and whistle - at least out of respect for... oh, yes of course, Mariah Carey?

I'm so embarrassed I wanted Mimi to get back with this guy. Having 10 kids by almost half a dozen different baby Mamas in 2022 is so disgustingly irresponsible when we have 8 billion locus on this planet already. I donno. There is no population shortage on this planet. You're cute Bud, but your seed ain't gold. Mariah must be humiliated. Roc and Roe probably won't even know half their siblings. I think they stopped with introductions after Golden tbh. Nick, dig deep into that narcissism, gluttony and those control issues during therapy.

Thank you so much for saying this. I haven't posted in a while for this exact reason. The negativity is like everyone's been body snatched by he who was banned and never to be mentioned again. Relax, it's a trademark for merchandise (people are just pressed they didn't think to do it themselves, earlier). Also, enough with this Mariah should retire (she never will, she's a corporation and we're all just a conversation) and that her voice is shot. She just did Master Class and she showed her voice is not shot. Let her use her voice the way she wants and within its capabilities. Miss Love sounds nothing like she once did either. I love how MC uses her voice on Caution, it's beautiful and ethereal. No one can belt like they did in the '90's (not Celine, not Whitney RIP, not even Madonna can sing like she once did and she never had much of a singing voice to start with). Mariah is and will be a Dolly Parton and a Cher, Teflon for life, and omnipresent in Pop culture whatever the time of year.

I agree with you. I want some positivity too. What's the point about wasting your time complaining about an artist because she is not willing be like another artist? If I was doing that, then I would just switch allegiance to the artist that I was praising.

"She has to stop with the r&b/hip hop." Something I would like too. More soulful songs, Jazz, a fun pop-song, Gospel. But I fear Mariah isn't ready to leave the "fresh RnB sound" behind. Unplugged or a duet album or with covers would be great. That would be a big surprise. Maybe one day, I hope so.

Let me be clear, Nick has made some poor choices. But let's not sit here and pretend that these women aren't lining up to have his children just because he has money. What kind of mother, knowingly wants to have a baby with a man with ten kids and five different mothers? Yea the money is nice. But you really are settling for a comfortable lifestyle in lieu of your child having their father in their life. At this point, now that his philandering is public knowledge, any new baby mammas are just as disgusting as he is.

I agree with most of what you've said here. But I really feel MC would be best served by doing an unplugged album that focuses on her songwriting and worn voice. Songs with very little instrumentation like Through The Rain, Cry, I Wish You Well and her great songwriting would be amazing. Take all the effects off her voice so she sounds human and not like the speaker at a drive through. Do something a la Adele. Clean. Dark. Beautiful. Universal. She has to stop with the r&b/hip hop. Even Jay-Z stopped rapping in his 50s.

A record company won't invest money in Mariah until she does or makes something that is commercially viable, and even then it would be a limited budget. Nobody wants more of the same from Mariah, including her record company, I'm sure. We as fans want no more experimental style RnB. If she decides to go the RnB route, then something akin to the late night mix of WBT is what people want. However, I do think she needs to do something fresh, and accept her current status as a legacy act. She needs to do an album of covers, or duets with a range of artists. And not with artists you'd necessarily expect her to work with. At her age you would hope she stops trying to be fresh or current with her music, because that's what actually ages her. Her output in recent years has been cringe.

The more I think about it, the more the burden that Mariah has in parenting her kids becomes clear. She is forced to walk a tight rope between the legal requirement to enable her kids to have a relationship with their father (as I am sure she would have originally wanted following the divorce) and her own convictions to raise her children to understand that their father's attitude toward sexual relations and child-bearing "relationships" is not a model to be emulated and is not generally accepted or viewed favorably or honorably by society at large. Rather, it is a misogynistic disposition that disrespects the women involved with him and devalues the children that are produced. She has to convey this to Moroccan as a potential future husband/father figure and to Monroe as a young woman who should never allow herself to be treated in such a way by a man. This is to speak nothing of how irresponsible it is to have 10 children in an age of over population and environmental degradation caused by over population. Mariah has a big challenge on her hands. We stand with you, MC.

Furthermore, the Grammy's do not go by sales or chart positions. So for those that keep saying that One Sweet Day was the longest running #1 song, etc, it doesn't reflect the Grammy's position of voting. Case in point - Joni Mitchell's "Indigo Blue" wasn't even a Top 40 album prior to receiving the Album Of The Year nomination. Also, Annie Lennox "No More I Love You's" peaked at #23 on Billboard Hot 100.

I glad you said it. I didn't hear enough people call out Ms Darlene for trying it with the "I can still hit the notes" comment. Yeah real classy. It's giving jealous and bitter that Mariah is a bigger Christmas icon and has the most streamed version of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)". Anywho I heard Mariah was just trademarking it for merchandise only; not to stop others from using the title, but whatever I'm neither here nor there about it. I just felt it was tasteless to come for Mariah in that way, she could've just released a classy statement while just getting her lawyers on it if she felt some type of way.

That was your opinion. I loved Jagged Little Pill. Still do. I also love Daydream, but in my opinion it is not as strong as Alanis' album. Mariah is my all time favourite, but that album is a diamond. And again: my opinion.

Back then, I hated the song "Ironic" and this kind of music by Alanis. It was just "screaming" for my ears and not real singing. I always changed the radio station when the song was played. And it was played a lot. Lol. But then the next song was "Fantasy", "ABMB" , "Open Arms" or "One Sweet Day" and everything was fine. Well, it is just a matter of taste. Isn't it? But my vote goes to "Daydream".

Mariah actually deserved the Grammys for "Daydream" more than any other artist at that time. Yes, there was a good competion back then, but we are talking about "Daydream". For "Fantasy" alone there should have been the award. It was Mariah's year musically, she was 24/7 on MTV, on the radio stations around the world. And then there was "One sweet day". It was Mariah mania, maybe this is one reason why they didn't get her one Grammy. Plus that her husband at that time was the boss of Sony. Pure envy. She had everything, the look, the voice, the power.

You could be the biggest and most respected name, but if what you're putting out doesn't guarantee revenue, it would be stupid to invest your coins in said product. Would you invest a million dollars in a Mariah video other than anything related to AIWFCIY? I doubt you would. It's business. Madonna can't sell two records, but she's strong on concerts still. She makes more from a tour that what she would if she had a very successful album. Mariah is strong on Christmas, it is what it is.
