As it is, it won't go higher. For all we know the remix is at 45% points of Latto's version, and just needs a little bit of push. The 50/50 rule should have exceptions in this case, because Latto's version stalled at no.13 weeks ago, and that already samples Fantasy, and then on top of that, it was the remix that pushed it to top 3. Second, Billboard requiring a letter doesn't make any since Savage by Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce was automatically credited on the chart upon debut as "solo or remix". Stella had absolutely trashed Mariah's image down to being a C list reality star. I thought there was no way Mariah would be able to come out of that. The way her image has been restored in the past few years is a miracle. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm saying Mariah being a grown woman shouldn't be held responsible but people you surround yourself with do influence you. Stella had basically taken a legend and buried her status. I'm glad Mariah is out of that era. The bad part of Stella was she was also very self serving. Mariah's version of the song is what made it #1 on the sales charts and added to huge playlists yet she was not credited even when it reached #3 on the Hot 100. Mariah Carey at the BBC (100,116) by Lee from UK Mariah at the BBC was a little treat on BBC 2 tonight. This opened with a live version of Vision of Love that I hadn't seen before which was lovely. Lots of older performances cleaned up and looking crisp. It also contained some of Mariah's worst lipped performances but it is what it is. (Sunday 10 April 2022; 00:49)

It totally would have had Tomato not interferred, and we would potentially be talking about 21 #1 singles. I hope MC gets that 20th #1. I remember when she got that 18 #1, even my dad and brother seemed surprised and finally realized that Mariah is a legendary artist. Anyway, even though "Big Energy" might only stay in the top 10, it's her biggest success since #Beautiful, and that is a while ago, even though it seems like yesterday. Played the song for my mom earlier today, and even though I might have traumatized her with my constant loud playing of Mariah's music, even she liked the remix and said "Who can forget that Mariah song?" when talking about Fantasy. My mother has always followed Mariah in the news and stuff, so she's always up to par about what is going on in Mariah's life, because she feels like Mariah is almost a friend of mine.
