Re: Where Are You Christmas (98,953) (98,957)

If Where Are You Christmas was put out with 1994 vocals the issue is, it would totally outshine Fall In Love at Christmas. Here's hoping for Rarities II in 2022 to include that, Lose Control from the debut and her demo tape.

Adele's in her Daydream era now. I'm like, let her have it. Mariah doesn't really need to have an aggressive campaign like Adele's album roll out in my view.

I saw the concert and interview yesterday, and it was refreshing. The magic that some projected lights can do is beyond amazing. She didn't dance or have any outfit changes, but one thing she did was sing her heart out. No gimmicks, not distractions, no arrogance, pure class. About the interview, Adele is just real. She doesn't give two fs about sounding this way or coming across that way, and there's nothing more relatable than that. It reminded me of Mariah up until the Daydream era. Adele is a huge star, yet it doesn't seem to have gone to her head. It's also refreshing to have concept albums, this generation doesn't seem to care about those anymore.

Sony/Columbia is pouring some money into Adele's 30 right now. Her album is just really good. People are really connecting with her like never before. Her interview with Oprah was like two best friends having a chat about life, love, and self-empowerment. Her concert was so refreshing to watch. She was funny, sang from her heart, and looked fabulous dahling. MC and her team need to come up with a connecting marketing strategy for MC16 or it is going to be another MIAM - dead on arrival.

Where Are You Christmas (98,953)
by T from USA

She said she was going to release her version this year, as it goes with The Rarities theme she's been on. But alas she said she scrapped that idea because she was so in love with FILAC. Hopefully next year no new Christmas music so she can finally give us that one Christmas song we want from her.

From what I've read in the past, the reason she had that reaction on Idol was because he had dedicated that song to her at one of his concerts.

Well he always gave off strange energy to me during his relationship with Mariah so nothing in the series was really shocking to me. I think when you reach their level of fame it can be super hard to maintain a relationship beyond the career. I was happy to see the series didn't take cheap shots at Mariah on purpose. If anything it made the breakup understandable. It was moving to watch Mariah's American Idol reaction again too, I really felt for her there.

If you listen to lamb folklore it was After Tonight that he was supposed to duet with Mariah on for Rainbow (now I think that was the song Mariah wanted Toni Braxton on). You had me thinking so I did some digging and this article confirmed what you are saying. David Foster was supposed to produce LM album, Great American Songbook but they sell out over the autotune issue and from the understanding the album never came out. LM did release a version of the song in 2020 with Celine Dion to his fans on Instagram (they sound great together I may add). Do you think that was calculated shade since he removed Mariah and put Celine on instead and only released this one song, especially since this story would be told on his series? Anyway, here is the article I found.

Don't worry about Tommy and his friends at Range Media. Adele is about to break records with 30. She is going keep AIWFCIY from making it to #1 on the Hot 100 this year. Have you heard Adele's 30 Hold On? This song is such a personal song for her. Wow.

You will pay for such a post. If you consider yourself to be a true lamb, you have to act like one, a little Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs.

Tommy's been married to Thalia now for over 20 years and is in his 70s. He's not going to actively try to sabotage Mariah.

I really wish Mariah would have stayed with Jay's Roc Nation. Their 2019 Christmas campaign was beyond amazing and finally brought AIWFCIY to the top of the charts. I've read that a few of the people at her new management group have ties to her former husband and boss. This guy being the latest, he still works with Tommy Mottolla. Yikes. I hope there won't be any internal sabotage. She should stay far away from anyone affiliated with him.

Thanks for sharing this. They don't paint Mariah in a bad light at all, I wonder what she thinks of her portrayal. Why would you think the song was not "Somos Novios" though? Isn't that why she got so emotional on Idol? Or was it supposed to be an original?

Luis Miguel series (98,939)

So I saw this clip on the breakup of Luis Miguel and Mariah. Interesting is was all over a war of the egos. I mean, if you don't want your voice to be altered because you came to the session unprepared and drinking alcohol while recording of course you are going to sound flat and need "help". Lol. They referred to the producer as David. I have a feeling that's David Foster and the song was "After Tonight". Mariah should have given the rights to the song (if they asked for it). May have gotten it some streams and some cash in her pocket for doing nothing. The actress can really sing. That climax was Mariahesque. Especially the whispers. Here is a clip.

Myles, I couldn't agree more with you. Nothing wrong with MCs new deal. Champagne, caviar and mermaid dresses makes her unrelatable. There's more to her, she is human. And bottom line it's her decision.
The general public believes lambs live in a bubble and lambs sometimes block her success as *gatekeepers*, and often the first to critique her every move.

The Butterfly Lounge (98,935)
by Bobby A from United States

|

Has MC's Butterfly Lounge always been Atlanta? I received my FILAC cd today and it says that Mariah recorded her vocals in Atlanta. Just curious if she is now living in Atlanta. Seems like no one recorded their vocals together. Kirk Franklin and the choir recorded their vocals in Arlington Texas. This is the same choir that sings on his albums. Khalid recorded his vocals in Burbank, California. #Beautiful was the last time MC was actual in the studio with her duet partner.

Oh please! I can't with the haters regarding this deal. This was a huge deal for MC, all the big artists are doing it now. She is not promoting obesity with this deal, that's like saying she is promoting alcoholism with her black Irish liquor. This is a fabulous deal for MC and her marketing team this year deserves all the admiration in the world. Enough with the scrooges please.
