Ledisi covers Without You (95,408) by Bobby A from United States
Ledisi covers Without You on her new album. She sings it just like MC. She hits all the high notes. Check it out.

Patricia Carey (95,407) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Based on the article from New York magazine unfortunately Mariah, and Mama Carey are not on the best of terms, and have been estranged for quite sometime. Mariah also said despite their issues she still provides for her mother as far as financial support. As far as the assistant living facility in Florida I am not too sure about that, but if that is what is needed due to her failing health who am I to pass judgment. Hopefully Mariah, and Mama Carey can make amends before it is too late.

You need to decide, either Bill or Andrew. Don't be so greedy on these trying times.

Re: Mariah en Espanol (95,404) (95,405) by Edward from USA
You've been very aggressive lately. I need to have a conversation with Eric. This abuse can't continue. We all know JLo can sing, she just doesn't like to show off. Her version of "Do You Know Where You're Going To" is a masterpiece.

Re: Mariah en Espanol (95,400) (95,404) by Stacey from USA
I don't really care about who has the better accent, lol. My comments were a total dig at J-Lo's singing abilities or lack thereof.

Patricia Carey (95,403) by Bobby A from United States
Is really true that Mariah and her mother have been estranged for years now? Any truth to Mariah moving Patricia into an assisted living facility in Florida because of failing health and in preparation for the media storm that is going to follow when Mariah's book comes out.

Article: Mariah Carey's brother: 5 fast facts you need to know (95,402) by TMG from USA
It's incredibly sad with as much opportunity as there is bestowed for this family in the public eye that leadership just wasn't there for them to resolve their issues. You can't ever erase or replace the members of this family or its journey no matter how much money, fame or agenda those benefiting from its destruction exists.

Do You Know (95,401) by Bobby A from United States
Where is Andrew this week? He has been awfully quiet this week. Lol. Anyway, here in Atlanta I am listening to Do You Know Where You Are Going To Bonita right now on the 16th floor of my Peachtree Street apartment. I am just having a ball dancing to this remix. This is why MC is the queen of remixes. I love the gifts she's given us today. I am so proud to be a fan.

Hate to say it, but Jennifer's accent is definitely better, it has gotten better with time. Sometime you can't even tell she's a gringa. But the singing part, you're right, lol.

Thank you so much for all that you do here. I appreciate how swiftly the posts are up and just having this space in general. You do your job so well. It means a lot and I know that you don't have to do it. Just wanted to say a big thanks.

Rainbow Era Remix EPs (95,397) by Bill from the UK
Here are my hopes for the Rainbow EPs. Let's cross our fingers and toes that we get the complete set with nothing missed... though by recent trends there are likely to be some disappointments.

Heartbreaker
Radio Edit (often misprinted as "Album Version featuring Jay. Z", it has a shorter break between verses and axes one of the final choruses)
Remix
Remix Edit [P] (only available on a few promo CDs, this version cuts out the introduction)
No Rap Version
Junior's Club Mix
Junior's Club Dub
Junior's Hard Mix
Love Hangover/Heartbreaker

I think these were probably the last "great" remixes Mariah ever did. The Junior Vasquez "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" mixes were inspired, and remain a work out staple to this day. I will eat my hat if the Remix Edit appears.

Thank God I Found You
Make It Last Remix
Make It Last Remix w/o Rap
Make It Last Remix Instrumental
Make It Last Remix Edit
Make It Last Remix Edit w/o Rap
Stargate Radio Edit
Celebratory Mix

I'd be interested to see if the Make It Last edits (both with and without rap) appear as Mariah seems to not be including edits of the mixes. I loved the Stargate Radio Edit, I think it's the best version. Sidenote: really hope they use the "twisty top" cover and not the "hat with braids" cover.

Against All Odds
Single Version (a.k.a. Westlife Version)
Pound Boys Radio Edit
Pound Boys Main Mix
Pound Boys Deep Dub [P]
Pound Boys Dub
Backing Track [P]
Instrumental

The "Backing Track" appeared on a very rare Brazilian promo CD (899.929/2-495879), so it is unlikely this will appear. Not expecting the Instrumental to make it either. The Pound Boy mixes were on that rare Brazilian promo CD as well, but were more easily obtainable on the UK vinyl release. The Westlife version is a bit of car crash so wouldn't mind this not appearing and it remaining a Mariah only affair.

Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)
Radio Edit
Morales Club Mix Edit
Morales Club Mix
Morales Instrumental
Morales Revival Triumphant Mix
Morales Revival Club Mix* [P]

Some good Morales remixes here, especially hopeful that the Revival Club Mix appears as it has only ever been available on a French promo-only 12" up until now.

Crybaby
Radio Edit [P]

I doubt this will appear, unless it is "double-a sided" with CTTA, like upon its release. A shame as this is a promo-only edit we probably won't see again.

I love this description, I know exactly what you mean. Something about it. That's why they have long been favourites of mine.

Re: Sweetheart non Rap (95,392) (95,395) by Bill from the UK
The strings are the best part about Honey. The give it that "James Bond" feel. Agree, the remix really suffers without them and it would have probably been the perfect version of the song had they been included.

#1s EPs and recap (95,394) by Bill from the UK
Hello all. Bill's Weekly Remix EP Recap is back. Have you missed me?

So wow, where do we start? Mariah went all out with some mega rare remixes for this round. The "Mariah En Espanol" EP was an unexpected surprise, and closed the gaps with Hero, Open Arms and My All having their Spanish versions released which were missed during their respective eras. Great to also see the promo-only remixes for Mi Todo, which are great, available commercially for the first time ever.

And then Mariah went above and beyond with Do You Know Where You're Going To and the incredibly rare club mixes, only ever available on an extremely scarce South American promo picture disc previously. These are some of my most favoured mixes, and the instrumental break in the "bonita" versions is excellent.

I Still Believe delivered with a stonking 13 versions, the only omissions being some edits and instrumentals. It bested the existing EP of 10 tracks, which should really now be retired to avoid "clogging up" Mariah's online streaming catalogue. Sweetheart also came through with the fantastic "pounding" remixes (good for the cross trainer), three of which had only ever been available on a promo vinyl release before. Mariah had included the regular album versions for the #1s EPs, my thought here is that as the "#1 to Crapfinity" album essentially replaced the 1998 release, the regular versions have been included. Really though, DYKWYGT is the only track in danger of being erased, as Sweetheart and I Still Believe both appeared on Mariah's Greatest Hits.

Disappointing that When You Believe didn't get anything, albeit I did predict this as a slightly different TV Track and an Instrumental aren't exactly much to write home about, but it would have been nice to have had the live version from the Oscars included.

As per previous posts, * denotes vinyl only.

Promo only releases now available:
Sweetheart (A Cappella)
Sweetheart (M's More Bounce to the Ounce Vocal)*
Sweetheart (M's Pounding Dub)*
Sweetheart (M's Beats & Bounces Mix)*

DYKWYGT (Mahogany for Clubbers)
DYKWYGT (Mariah Bonita)
DYKWYGT (Mariah Bonita Club)
DYKWYGT (Mariah Bonita Club Edit)

Below is a list of the remixes that did not make the cut, in addition to When You Believe mentioned above. As before, * denotes vinyl only, and [P] is a promotional only remix.

Sweetheart (Radio Edit)
Sweetheart (The Story Instrumental)
Sweetheart (Instrumental) [P]
I Still Believe (Damizza Remix Edit)
I Still Believe (Damizza Remix Instrumental)*
I Still Believe (Stevie J. Remix Edit) [P]
I Still Believe (Stevie J. Remix Instrumental)*

The EPs have been a bit sporadic with whether they include edits and instrumentals. I hope for when Thank God I Found You's turn rolls around (hopefully next week), that the Make It Last Instrumental is available, as this is just divine to listen to.

There was a withdrawn UK release, I have it in my collection. And yes apologies, you're right, some territories in Europe did release the single.

Re: Sweetheart non Rap (95,385) (95,392) by Randy from USA
Stacey IDK if I agree with you. I like the rap included on the songs. I hate when she does an either or. Like Loverboy. You either get the rap or extended Cameo. On Thank God I Found You, you get more soulful instrumental moments or Nas. On the Bye Bye remix they took MC's whole first verse out to put Jay-Z on it and I would've liked his verse to extend the song. Even Fantasy was split in two. Although on the Bad Boy Mix you get the pop hook and ODB. It's my favorite version. And I hate to admit it but I love Gucci's verses on Obsessed so I wish she had defied us and put him on the song. P.S. I love all the Butterfly songs with the extended raps: The Roof, Breakdown and Honey. I just hate that Puffy took out the strings on the hook of the Bad Boy version. You have to listen closely.

"Hence singles were pressed both in the US and Europe but were never commercially issued."

I don't know if the single was released in the UK, but the single was released commercially in the rest of Europe. In the Netherlands it even reached the 14th spot.

Do You Know... Bonita (95,388) by Nicky from Jasmine's Sofa
These remixes are everything. I've never heard them before. They are giving me 4 am after hours tacos with a tiny dingey dance floor and some red and blue lights and nothing but locals. I'm so loving it.

MC30 is such a gift, what a creative rollout to her memoir. Very innovative.

Re: Derek Jeter (95,379) (95,387) by Nicky from Jasmine's Sofa
I agree. I have a feeling it's one of those things like, "this man is so amazing because he's nothing like what I just had". Like a refreshing rebound and she got super excited. I think the songs are more of a reflection of the feelings she felt by being with him more so than the relationship itself. I mean she has a Cancer ascendant and a Pisces mercury so go figure.

Re: Sweetheart non Rap (95,380) (95,386) by Bill from the UK
Yes agree, it's different with The One (No Rap) as JD's contribution is minimal, albeit still has his hallmark level of annoyingness. Sweetheart being more a "duet", the rap actually works and adds to a rather bland song. And yes, it was planned as the lead single but was canned right before release as radio wasn't playing it. Hence singles were pressed both in the US and Europe but were never commercially issued.
(Friday 4 September 2020; 20:05)
Re: Sweetheart non Rap (95,380) (95,385) by Stacey from USA
Same here. Usually I prefer her songs without the rap in hopes she'll save said rap versions for the remix. With this song and others like Heartbreaker, the rap fits perfectly and the song flows better with it there then without.

Mariah en Espanol (95,384) by Stacey from USA
Haha, someone should tell J-Lo that's how you sing in Spanish, lol.
