The EP’s / The rarities (95,174) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) To be honest with you all, everything surrounding MC30 is not costing the label in money, this is MC's thank you to her fans. So there will not be any big budget events surrounding this project like an actual album release. Besides that the pandemic is very much alive, and well so I doubt MC has any plans to do much promoting besides from home. We should just be appreciative of this moment, and give thanks that MC decided to do this for us because she truly loves, and appreciates her fans. However I am sure that she has starting writing some fresh material during quarantine but I do not believe that she will be releasing another album of new material anytime soon. Deniece Williams (Lee and This is GHM) (95,173) by Randy from USA I was kind of surprised when Eric (webmaster) didn't post that story about Deniece Williams. Here's my thing, MC's voice started a massive decline in 1998 so it trips me out people keep talking about "30 years in the business". My issue isn't the vocal decline, it's the deceit. The singing on records highly engineered that she has no hope of replicating live and then using a backing track when she sings live. Sometimes even recording a raspy backing track so it's not so obvious. I love MC and yes Whitney and Amy had their own struggles but Whitney sang live all the time no matter how bad a shape her voice was. If you are paid to do a job, do it. Teachers are paid to teach. Police officers are paid to police. Singers are paid to sing. And MC is considered one of the all time greats. If you are interested in the Deniece Williams article you can view it here. Robert-Anthony / Walter A (95,172) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) Fans need to accept that MC has no interest in rebuilding a friendship, nor a working relationship with Walter A. Randy Jackson tried to reconnect them during the MIAM era. Robert Anthony I understand that you, and many other fans would love to see them together again. However we should respect that MC has decided to move on, and for whatever reason is between them maybe she will talk about their musical partnership and what caused them to fall out, and grow apart in her memoir, and if she chooses not to we should respect that as well. Fans need to allow MC the freedom to create the art she chooses, and with whom she chooses. (Monday 24 August 2020; 14:38)

Re: Save The Day (95,169) (95,171) by Bill from the UK I'm not sure if you're talking about real critics, or people on this board, but personally I'm not a fan of Whitney and Amy, so I don't comment on them, nor did I ever read up on their personal struggles, though I knew about it. The troubles those two faced were much more public than anything Mariah has ever done. Like many here, we raise these issues because we were there at the beginning and have witnessed the decline and, due to our love for her, it concerns us. I want Mariah to be around for many, many years. I want her to keep making great songs and being the soundtrack to my life. If anything ever happened to her I would be heartbroken and devastated. I mean, how are the critics complaining about Mariah's vocals and yet said nothing when Whitney and Amy Winehouse were killing themselves for years. It's likely more fragile and more susceptible to lifestyle choices and uncontrollable factors such as aging. Some people have voices that will naturally withstand those factors better (Barbra, Patti, Coko from SWV, etc.). She is not one of them. Deniece Williams is unfortunately being dragged by many Lambs for simply telling the truth. Mariah did not take care of her voice when it counted the most and even now that irreparable damage has been done she seems to continue not to. It's really concerning how much worse it's gonna sound 5 years from now. (Monday 24 August 2020; 07:20)

I personally did not like CLG when it was released as the second single after Emotions. It is not one of my favorite MC songs. There is something about the slow melody that makes me want CLG to end quickly. Yes, I know it is 10 times better than STD or Crapfinity. Maybe TMOMC and The Rarities will help reunite Walter A. and MC for her next album in 2021. Who could bring them together at the same table? Babyface or Bryan Tanaka? Fourth of July (95,161) by Nicky from Jasmine's Sofa I think I'm still holding out, waiting to feel the magic from this song in a real life experience. Like since day one, the feels of this song were so tangible and just slightly less abstract than Underneath The Stars for me (btw I am still and will always be utterly in love with that song as well). Like... every single millisecond of FOJ captured the whole essence of that the story she was telling. Also, I literally see colors when I hear it. Re: Save The Day (95,146) (95,159) by Will from England And just to add to the point about her voice, I think she only re-sang it so high, was to match how she originally wrote it. If she sings in her lower to mid registers (giving me life etc.) I think she will sound great, and leave the breathy voice behind/use it less regularly. But yes, between GTFO (which was mostly that register) to STD re-recording, her voice had changed once again, but it is interesting to notice that the chorus and the verses are almost two different voices. Watching a video analysis recently (taking it with a pinch of salt naturally), the commentator noticed she is now more comfortable using her mid-voice rather than the higher, breathy whisper register. I think she could have taken more time to adapt the song to her current voice rather than match it to whatever draft version she had from all those years ago. (Sunday 23 August 2020; 22:54)

Re: Save The Day (95,146) (95,157) by Will from England Listening to the song, I get the feeling that it was mainly the chorus that they had down, and the verses were added later which is why it sounds a little disjointed, if that indeed was the case. I agree with the KMS sample being an afterthought, but maybe using the sample was the original intent to be a part of their failed previous attempt at a duet? What if we will have one more single to be released with a video reminisce of here early debut videos. Hopefully the rumoured track 15 Walter Afansieff collaboration "Anything Can Happen". And hopefully the Loris Holland rumoured "Christmas Glory" will be released as a Christmas single along with the live Tokyo AIWFCIY. Critics are going to give MC praises for the album because the tracks are pre-MOIA era and her voice was fabulous. (Sunday 23 August 2020; 21:13)

Save the Day is better than some say it is (95,154) by Aliya from Canada Personally, I love the song. I love the message the song gives, because this is a time when we need it most. I actually love the way the song is constructed, the chorus and everything. That being said, I understand why some people say that it sounds sort of unpolished. I guess that's why it is featured on The Rarities, rather than an an actual album. I like that she gave us something great, because I missed her putting out songs. I honestly enjoy the song. Re: Save The Day (95,146) (95,151) by Musti from UK STD. I wish I could unread this. The song itself is alright. The verses are dull but the chorus and bridge are hot. Smart of her to use Killing Me Softly as a sample. That song never gets old and it's the only reason I could get into STD after the beat dropped. I agree that she had plenty of time and inspiration to come up with something better. This song is just another midtempo that could've literally been on any album she's released since TEOM. To be completely honest, I haven't gone back to it since listening to it for the first time on Friday. I love her voice in all its shapes. But her songwriting style has become very repetitive and I find that more concerning than anything else. Caution did have some great numbers but with her abilities and experience she could be putting out much better material. (Sunday 23 August 2020; 18:45)
