Re: The ultimate disgrace (84,629) (84,636) by RD from South Africa
How about you GTFO? It is fine to be vocal about your opinion but when it comes to you being insolent to that extent, then you are an embarrassment as a fan. It seems you like old school music and cannot accept the fact that Mariah has evolved with the times, so go listen to Susan Boyle or Joni Mitchell or something. You forget that journalists usually read fan sites like this and you are giving non fans the idea that Mariah's fans hate her and this can create negative press before her album release.

You are self projecting as you are actually the embarrassment and not Mariah. You are not even half as talented as Mariah, you don't have 18 number 1 hits or one fraction of her net worth so keep your mouth shut and do not express your views in an uncouth manner. Mariah has grown both personally and musically and it seems that you are stuck in 90s Mariah and cannot move forward. We all love 90s Mariah too but if you cannot accept her current music then don't listen to it and spreading negativity to her true fans.

Where's the video? (84,634) by Lara from Middle East
Is she gonna use footage from her AMAs performance for the video? Why else it isn't out yet?

AMA I like the choreo (84,633) by jaker20 from US
That is actually her best dancer choreography probably ever. I wonder who created it. The problem is that she's not even part of it lol. That choreography combined with her ABMB iHeart performance then that would have been a good show. Even though she was lipping most of it I didn't completely hate it. And she looks great by the way.

AMA (84,632) by Myles from CT, USA
Visually stunning. But not effective enough to wow. I feel terrible even saying that. I want Mariah to win, but that... am I wrong? What did y’all think?

"Live" at the AMAs (84,631) by 90sMariah from SG
One thing I can't fault Mariah with is her consistency when it comes to performing "live". She has once again showcased her now famous signature Mariah moves (or lack of it): lip-syncing like she's lazily chewing gum, an ensemble two sizes too small and standing there like a bored statue. I mean, I really wasn't expecting much since the song is super boring, but wow - she made the song even more boring I almost dozed off. Lol. I guess "Yay" at least she looked pretty, right? Right?

AMAs reaction (84,630) by Shezz from Pk
To be fair most of us here knew she would lip. Looked pretty. Didn't mind the change in choreography.

The ultimate disgrace (84,629) by Andrew from UK
Thumbs up if you are thoroughly ashamed to be a Mariah Carey fan after that AMA "performance". Everything is sound engineered. Everything is a fake. Everything is a farce. Don't anybody call her a singer. Don't you dare. I have never seen anything so shit in my life. "Don't know what I'm supposed to do?" I have an idea. Quit embarrassing yourself and your fans. What a disgrace. Singer? Singer? More like a [censored] in a dress. Ashamed of my life spent defending this.
J.Lo figuratively just said she don't know you either. J.Lo sings better than you. Sound comes out of her mouth. And mine. Dear 1995 Andrew, one day you will sing better than Mariah Carey.

Re: With You Performance (84,622) (84,628) by Bobby A from United States
AMA performance was awesome and safe. With You just reminds me of an album track just like GTFO. Here's to the second single before the album drops or she should just drop the album out of nowhere. Because at this point we all are just wanting MC15. Only time will tell what happens now.

I hope Mariah has fun and enjoys performing. Because when she's happy, it shows. I like the song and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what she does with it.

Money ($ * / ...) ft. Fabulous should've been the second single. It would've sounded at home on radio with Grande's Problem and Derulo's Trumpets.

Iconic Mariah ward show moments (84,619) by RibbonB from USA
This was a really great award show moment. I loved Mimi in full color and everything else in black and white. Maybe we can expect a stylized moment like this tonight with her new video . Mariah is so cute but funny in "kaniption" mode with her hand going wild. I hope she keeps the moment about her and singing.

GTFO and With You (84,618) by B from USA
I think Mariah intentionally took a minimalistic approach to both GTFO and With You and that by doing so she has made her music more accessible and radio friendly. Minimalism is using repetition of very short phrases that change gradually to create a hypnotic effect.

Re: (84,609) (84,616) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
One of the worst/weaker ones, sure, but not the worst. Let's be real here - that goes to Triumphant. And/or Infinity depending on anyone's mood for the day. Those were legitimately bad songs that critics tore apart and only a few fans were able to warm up to since. Besides, I'll say it again - if anything's ruining her legacy these days, it's her "live" performances much more than her music. So people don't care about her new material because they don't measure up to her previous ones - that doesn't single-handedly ruin a legacy of a career with a longevity as long as Mariah's. It could be contributory, but really, more than anything else, it's this façade she unconvincingly puts up time and time again that she can still do those skyscraping vocal acrobatics live that really hurt her. Mariah could magically come up tomorrow with a great solid studio-cut gem of a single with all the money notes that made her click in 2005 and it still wouldn't really matter that much for her legacy if she cannot deliver an honest-to-god, fully live performance of it.

Re: Music biz today (84,594) (84,615) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Generally speaking, we live in a culture that justifies the refusal to support artists. I can't tell you how many times friends, family and even people I don't know, have looked at me like I have three heads when I tell them I still buy all my music, movies books, concerts and TV shows. I still go to theater when I am able and depending on the artist I even still purchase physical copies of things. Yes, I do download stuff for free occasionally, but only things I can't go out and purchase like live performances or remixes not officially released. The term flop is overused so much, I actually cringe. You can't justify downloading material for free, and wonder why the overall quality of what gets produced has gone down or be upset when artists manipulate the system to try to circulate their material. People use the term flop so often, and yet are if there was a clearer understanding of how music actually operates today, that statement would not get used. I do miss the days where you had to wait until a physical store carried albums and singles before you could hear it or make a purchase. The instant gratification society we live in hasn't helped art or artists.

No Special K you gotta pick a better fake boyfriend than Banaka Tanaka to go up against your husband's fake girlfriend Gina Torres.
