Taken a song of hers, deconstructed it and re-imagined it for the remix with new vocals, potentially new lyrics and other song samples? Only difference here is that she's using an old song. And why not? Let her have fun, the WBT redo was quite enjoyable and got her to be creative again, something she couldn't really do since the rules regarding what constitutes a remix changed and she was stuck with just keeping the studio vocals and having them over a dance beat, given the odd exception here and there (I'm assuming that's why that re-sung version of HATE U or Beautiful were never released as they wouldn't have helped the original song with the charting). The backstory is Miguel called in Mac Robinson, Brian Keith Warfield, Happy Perez and Brook "D'Leau" Davis for a songwriting session. I like how she didn't trash her earlier looks and instead looks at the pictures fondly enjoying the enormity of what each moment in time represented for a once in a lifetime career like hers. It's sad to hear a lot of her iconic dresses are stolen. Wonder if it's the same people who stole the demo tape she when asked about it in an interview while promoting Caution. Her best look is the 2018 Golden Globes. Just the right amount of sexy, classy, and old Hollywood perfectly balanced out. She needs to reach a wider audience with Butterfly Lounge. I don't think Apple could that because they don't hold the streaming market like Netflix. She has said her favourite song from Emotions was And You Don't Remember (Afanasieff), her favourite from Music Box is AYNAF (Afanasieff), her favourite from Merry Christmas is AIWFCIY (Afanasieff), her favourite from Daydream is Underneath the Stars (Afanasieff) and her favourite from Butterfly is Close My Eyes (Afanasieff).
