Weekend thought (98,683) by Bobby A from United States
I really feel the one thing that MC has left on her bucket list as a singer songwriter is to write and perform the next James Bond movie theme song. She could write one with Jack Antonoff or Ryan Tedder that would make people take notice as to why she is still relevant after all of these years.

Hello BFF! Yes, I actually thought of those songs too. However, I realized she needed those down time and other dramas that turned her the person and artist who she is now. I love the album Glitter so much!

Mimi got us waiting (98,681) by Bobby A from United States
Mimi is enjoying keeping us waiting this year with her big announcement. We had announcement already by this time last year. She hasn't said a word since the last Twitter Spaces event. Taylor moved her November release date up a week because of Adele's anticipated November 19th release. Mimi and her team must be plotting her biggest impact this Christmas season. We probably won't have any new vinyl release from Mimi this year because of the vinyl manufacturing delays right now.

Don't forget about "Can't Let Go". It barely missed the #1 spot because the record label didn't want sales of the single to impede sales of the album. In general, I do not understand why the "Emotions" album is so underrated. It's definitely her second best album behind "Butterfly" and light years better than the debut album.

And I agree on "Butterfly". If Sony had commercially released it, the song would have gone to #1. I think it went to #16 on the Hot 100 airplay chart. Ditto for "Forever", which went to #9 on the Hot 100 airplay chart and could have been a #1 single with a commercial release. "Can't Take That Away" or "Crybaby" probably could have gone to #1 with proper promotion as well. "Endless Love" with Luther narrowly missed #1. And let's not forget that "Loverboy", as messy as the released version was, could have been a #1 single if Destiny's Child's "Bootylicious" hadn't been released as a commercial single the same week.

I love how Migrate isn't on the list.

Wish/Could've beens list #1s (98,677) by Lainsky from Philippines
Feeling nostalgic as I listened to her music from the 90s, I thought of the "what ifs" and "if only" for many effing reasons behind Mariah's list of Billboard Hot 100 songs. Thus, I came up with the "could have been / wish list" of No. 1 songs. Yes, I got bored too lol!
1. Vision of Love
2. Love Takes Time
3. Someday
4. I Don't Wanna Cry
5. Emotions
6. I'll Be There
7. Dreamlover
8. Hero
9. Fantasy
10. One Sweet Day
11. Always Be My Baby
12. Honey
13. Butterfly (one of her best ballad)
14. Breakdown (fresh & unconventional sound of her)
15. My All
16. Sweetheart (JD deserves a No. 1 song)
17. Heartbreaker
18. Thank God I Found You
19. We Belong Together
20. Shake It Off (f**k Gold Digger!)
21. Don't Forget About Us
22. Touch My Body
23. For The Record (classic)
24. Imperfect (perfect as lead single)
25. Candy Bling (dunno but love it)
26. Caution (perfect lead single)
27. Giving Me Life (another fresh unconventional sound of her)
Amassing 28 number 1 songs in her more than 30 years of a music career, why not? Lol! What a nice record if I only...

There's a hero, when you're acting corny like Fritos.

Caution Tour (98,675) by enwar00 from usa
This video I came across reminded me how I enjoyed the Caution Tour. Loved finally hearing some different songs live. Wish there was an official release on Blu-ray or streaming. Also nice to see her give some love to MIAMTEC, which I insist was underrated and deserved better.

Vocally, I doubt it. Lyrically, definitely.

Yes, that cute guy in audience who shook his head when MC sang "And a hero comes along" at the end of the bridge said it all. Does MC have another Hero in her? Only time will tell if she does.

Re: Andrea Martin (98,670) (98,672) by Bobby A from United States
I felt the same way. She was one of my favorite songwriters. She wrote so many hits. So sad. RiP Andrea.

Re: Hero 2021 (98,668) (98,671) by Stacey from USA
That performance is what made me a fan. I had the TV on and the video for Hero started playing. It was like a scene out of a movie. MC started singing and I turned around slowly. "What was this voice I was hearing?" So yeah, moments like that need to be left alone. They are to be enjoyed.

Andrea Martin (98,670) by Terna from Nigeria
I can't believe she's passed, so suddenly too. This news hit me like a tonne of bricks, maybe it was covid-19 related. She's one of the few songwriters that defined the 90's and early 2000's. Damn the Legends are dying off.

Re: Hero 2021 (98,668) (98,669) by Bill from the UK
Even though there have been better performances of herself, and better live performances overall, I think Hero at Proctor's Theatre is her defining live performance.

Re: Hero 2021 (98,667) (98,668) by Bobby A from United States
I guess you got me with that performance. My sister doesn't like MC but that Hero performance kept her glued to the video in 1993.

Re: Hero 2021 (98,652) (98,667) by Terna from Nigeria
No Robert. Just no. She's never going to top Proctor's performance of that song, and should not be trying to re-record it. Even the 2009 version she did came across as "iffy" and too cautious.

Great show. Love the raw vocals, so much more compared to the edited Anaheim show.

Are you implying iTunes should be sacrosanct to the lambs or this board? Jussie Smollett sung "Infamous" with Mariah, I guess he's not guilty, right? Child please.

Re: Kelly Clarkson (98,662) (98,664) by The Real Deal from USA
I wouldn't be shady to iTunes. The lambs got Glitter to number one on that chart, which reignited interest for the album. I also hear iTunes spoken about more often than Billboard lately.

That's great. Good for Kelly. I still think it is funny anyone believes any song can compete with AIWFCIY. But to each their own.

What is iTunes? I thought they had gone away back in 2015.

Spoiler alert (98,661) by Bobby A from United States
BMI has a song, Fall In Love At Christmas on their website credited to MC, Kirk Franklin, Daniel Moore, and Khalid. Some fans are reporting on Twitter that the song samples Kirk Franklin and features Khalid. This is the song MC was talking about that she wrote with Daniel Moore and was looking for a young male singer. Kelly has a breakup song and MC has a fall in love song. Lol. Robert-Anthony reporting from Atlanta.

Passing (98,659) by RibbonB from USA
Speaking of Netflix, the movie Passing is comiing in November. This looks very interesting, starring Ruth Negga and Tessa Thompson and directed by actress Rebecca Hall. It's based on the 1929 novel "Passing". The movie is bound to spark much conversation and debate. Rebecca Hall's backstory is equally interesting with her own familial connection to passing from her maternal grandfather. She also appears on a forthcoming episode of Finding Our Roots, where she wss able to learn more than her family ever knew on the subject. Dev Hynes is doing the musical score. I'm sure Mimi will be checking this movie out as well as she seems to like the old Hollywood black and white melodramas. This move is a period piece in that vein.
