Mariah Carey Masterclass (100,172) by 123 from USA The first three episodes are on her YouTube page. My favorite on is how to produce using your voice. This masterclass exceeded all my expectations and is one of the best things she has ever done. Her team should use clips from this masterclass to promote her. It feels like a re-introduction of Mariah Carey to today's music audience. I can't wait for The Butterfly Room. (Friday 15 April 2022; 15:59)

The Roof feat. Brandy (100,171) by Terna from Nigeria [It's] funny how [it's] the same song but the mood has changed. The original one on "Butterfly" is sad, dark and at the same time solemn and [lamentative] but she has changed this one. Its happier, "freer" and reflective instead like she's moved on, you know that feeling of heartbreak when you revisit and reflect and acknowledge that in that moment (which is what this song captured) the pain was real. I look at the two versions as [past] and present and acknowledge and understand the need for her to remake this song now. I love this version as well and [kudos] to Brandy, she killed it in those background vocals. (Friday 15 April 2022; 14:34)

This is Butterfly after all. How do you come close to replicating that masterpiece? I was pleasantly surprised. I love the different vocals. Brandy and Mariah pair well together. The more I listen to it the more I tend to go back to it and notice listen changes and the intricacies. I love the new intro and the outro is sooooo lush. I love Butterfly the way it is, it's a masterpiece. If this is the way Mariah's going to sound after resting her voice for almost three years, I'm disappointed. The Roof feat Brandy (100,162) by 123 from USA I like it. Doesn't stray away from the original much at all. The backgrounds, ad libs, and Brandy's parts sound so lush. The only thing I don't like is Mariah's new lead vocal. Sounds dry and course in some parts, just like the BER lead when she sings the first verse. In general, Billboard is trying to stop artists on remixes from getting credit. Remixes of course are different from ft. artists. The case is slightly different here because the artist on the remix (Mariah) is also an artist which is on another version of the song which the original (Latto's version) sampled (Genius of Love). It's a convoluted situation. That said, I don't think Mariah was tricked or used. Mariah isn't stupid. She knows that she may or may not get credit. But with Latto's version going up the charts, it also reminds people what a gem Fantasy was. That on is own is getting streams, and is getting some cute bumps on YouTube views. I feel like Mariah is taking her career more serious and wants a hit record. I loved "Caution" and "The rarities" album so I hope we get more songs like "Portrait" and "Save the day". Columbia won't let Adele release any experimental R&B. Adele has accomplished so much in just six months with 5,000,000 sales worldwide with just 2 hit songs. Notice how the remix is titled Latto X Mariah ft. DJ Khaled. The way it is titled is not really considered a remix and radio stations are just playing it as a new edited version of the original. I think that Latto used MC's name and voice to draw attention to her boring version of MC's pop jewel Fantasy. MC just got screwed on many levels this time. MC's addition to BE shows how she is a genius with harmonies and vocal layering. Does anybody know how Unforgettable did on the chart after MC jumped on the remix? French Montana got it right.
