Re: Twitter Spaces (98,612) (98,614)

One thing that stood out to me most was her openly talking about the upcoming projects that would be for her legacy. To me, that's the first time she really has openly talked about her legacy, and how she is now actively thinking about what comes next to build upon it and controlling that narrative rather than leaving it until later. It shows that, from my perspective at least, she isn't focused on having a chart hit, but just creating music that she enjoys.

Did anybody catch the shade? (98,613)

Did anybody catch the shade on Twitter Spaces conversation where she talked about Roc n Roe and she said "These are my only children. And the only children that I acknowledge and love. Understand?" If that wasn't a direct diss to Nick, his baby mamas and seeds, then I don't know what is!

I am so excited about new music coming soon, though it's not soon enough, I want it like yesterday. I never knew There For Me was written for the lambily and the fans, I just learned it from Mariah herself. Now I love that song even more. She sounds very genuine and happy about talking to the lambs and she's feeling that mutual love and support. I think I fell in love with her more, you can hear during the chat that she's just a deep soul and a human being just like you and I. We love you Mariah. And we appreciate you.

Also, what I found was really interesting is how at the end, when the connection had broken down, she said "ok, bye". I feel like that is the real Mariah. It kind of reminded me of that insecure side she showed a lot more during the 90s. Or also when toward the end she said how much she appreciated the fans, and her voice became very soft and not so over-to-top. I feel like that is Mariah the human, and it was so refreshing to hear that side of her, because it makes her so much more tangible than "the diva" (though we love her too).
What I feel I got from her was a sense of a very youthful spirit but I also hear a lot of hurt inside her. I hear that the voice is still 100% there (still not over the "nobody can take your place"), but it is worn and her struggles are reflected more in it. And she seems so vulnerable, while still very powerful. I actually cried a lot during the interview because I was listening to the woman who was a part of every moment of my life - my coming-out, struggles with mental health, breakups, lovers, self-empowerment, fun nights out, introspection - and at the end of the day she is just a human being with cracks and quirks that has given her all to her fans who hold her to such a high standard 30 years into her career.
I hope she knows that all these complexities and maybe even contradictions make her so beautiful and I think we are all here for it! We love the real Mariah, she is so much more relatable than the celebrity who repeats a million times somewhat incohesively how much she loves everyone and how excited she is for things she cannot disclose yet etc. Didn't you also think that sometimes she was just rambling?
The memoirs, her coming-out as bipolar, the Rarities were all big moments of her shedding her past and so much weight. I truly wish her healing from whatever hurt she has inside her (because it's obvious), and I hope that she finds love and trust and ease in her life. She deserves it so much for everything she has given to us! My life would surely not be the same without her in it. Love you Mimi.

Twitter Spaces (98,609)
by Manuel from Germany

Hey lambily! The Glitter edition of Twitter Spaces from 2 days ago is still on my mind and I wanted to hear your thoughts about it. I feel like this was the most real Mariah has been in many years (apart from her memoires) speaking publicly and just actually being herself. I heard a lot of excitement in her, a lot of humor, a lot of perseverance, and a lot of gratitude for the lambily.
But here is what I am thinking about: since I am German, I am not so familiar with "Americanisms" (only through media "celebrity culture"). And at times, Mariah seemed very "American" to me, as in super polite, repeating niceties with a sugar-coated sweetness, but also "going on a tangent". So is that something "American"? Or is she showing an even insecure side? I mean, at the same time, she was very genuinely present, and seemed to really care about being there for us and even singing Glitter songs! I mean OMG! When she belted from "Never Too Far" I was hearing Glitter Mariah with just as much soul, but with even more spirit.
Anyway, now I am on a tangent. Let me know how you perceived this moment dahlings. Cheers!

Wow. I hope it's a Glitter anniversary special. Remix EPs for Loverboy and Never Too Far/Hero, the videos finally released properly in HD, the album on vinyl, and those blanked out tracks she posted at the beginning of MC30 released.
But it's probably a new batch of cookies or a perfume lol.

I have a feeling MC is so inspired and creative right now that Certified Mimi is coming next year with Drake, Brandy, Maxwell, The Weekend, and others. She wants us to prepare for a new era after this year's Christmas season. Lol. Just my two cents this weekend.

So I've been blasting CLB since it's release and how I wish Mariah was a featured artist. Honestly I wish Mariah would collaborate with Drake. Not just because he is a hit monster but because he's talented and they can create a hot song together. Drake has shown Mariah love multiple times by posting her on his feed and stories. They should definitely get together. Another thing I was wondering was what came of Mariah in studio with Travis Scott and DJ Khaled. There was this photo long time back from 2017. Maybe it was for Travis's album and she was just hanging out. I can't say I'm a fan of Travis but he definitely pulls numbers and he gave Mariah shout outs in his songs. So I wouldn't be opposed to it. No more of the Shawni, Stefflon Don mess.

"Pressure", [a] new song by Ari Lennox, is a total [bop]. I was pleasantly surprised. She's giving substance, attitude, and most of all personality on this track. The song definitely is a standout from all the crap being churned out. Produced by Jermaine and co, [seems] there's hope after all.

Article: Mariah Carey's "Glitter" at 20 (98,595)
by Lainsky from Philippines

Wow! I am that old to see this wonderful but blindly berated Mariah classic album Glitter. I remember that day (who else would not?). While the world is grieving over the terrorists attack, I grieved with them and with Mariah through listening to Glitter. I did not let myself got affected by such harsh and undeserving criticism to this album and film. That's when I realized that I loved her no matter what. And after 20 years, this album remains in my top 5 if not top 3 of my most-listened-to music of her. I'm pretty sure that those critics have silently took back those destructive comments on her, especially on this gold-mine classic. Lead The Way could have been a great, huge potential No.1 single. I can only wish that she would create something like this on her new album. Happy 20th anniversary to Glitter!

Check out Diana Ross's [new song] "If The World Just Danced". I kinda love it. (Does this woman have a bad song when you really check? I don't think she does.) And yeah I don't really even checkout new music at this point, everything is in the same key, same beats, same voices, same auto-tuned soulless crap - listen to one, you've heard them all. The music doesn't have color anymore. It's so unfortunate. Seems Mariah Carey's gonna have to save music again for the third time. Haha.

I'm still obsessing over Save Your Tears remix with Ari. So good. Loved Kiss Me More and also I Need to Know by Doja. Current favorite is Coastin' by Victoria Monet, but it's very underplayed.
Bed by Joel Corry was my favorite bop of the summer. This summer has been packed with jams.
Yet, still listened to Caution in its entirety the other day during a road trip.
