Emotions had more of a R&B sound. Music Box went back to a pop sound. Daydream was totally a R&B album. Butterfly moved MC more into the hip hop R&B world. Yes she was always nominated (at some point Mariah was the most nominated female artist at the Grammys and most were for vocal performance) but she always lost to other females that one could hear most likely did those songs in one take. This brings up the issue of the demos for "Butterfly" and the Allure songs. I find it very hard to believe those songs don't have her own version. Mariah you need to check that magic vault very well. Lol. My life will be complete if I hear her sing "Last Chance", "Head Over Heels" and "Where are You Christmas" from that era, [it] is very important for me, that "Butterfly" period was when I became a die hard fan and that version of Mariah.
