Yes, agree with the outros too. Till the End of Time's ending is probably my favourite, followed by Everything Fades Away. Other great outros are To Be Around You (love the party going on), obviously All In Your Mind, and Do You Know Where You're Going To. Okay so she's queen of the intros, outros, and inbetween-tros lol. She is the queen.

Oh that's so true. I love all her intros. "Vision of love", Fantasy" and "You're so cold" are so phenomenal and outstanding. I could listen over and over just to the intros. I did that many times, but Mariah is the only singer where enjoy doing this.

Wow, I'm not even a fan, but she keeps doing interesting things. Congrats to her for pushing her art and dropping ish, unannounced and unapologetically. Her entire discography has re entered the iTunes charts. Now that might be the duet Mimi should push for.

Madonna & Maluma - Medellín (89,223)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
Madonna is known for putting out first singles that are designed to effect maximum impact. This new one, though, is her least flashy lead single since Frozen. It's like a weaker, modern cousin of La Isla Bonita. If she was hoping to ride the Latin wave, she may have arrived a little late to the party. However, she chose the best partner to do it with. Maluma sounds great. The extra autotune in Madge's vocals was unnecessary.
Medellín is not the banger everyone is hoping for from Madonna, but she has missed the mark in her last 2 albums so badly that this weirdly comes across as a return to form. At least she's doing something that, while may not be entirely new to her, still at least stands out of today's very drab music scene thanks to its hopeful summer vibe.

Vision of Love, You're So Cold, Emotions (Unplugged), Dreamlover, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Fantasy, My Saving Grace, You Don't Know What To Do to name but a few. Love the slow build intros she has across her catalogue.

Mariah is thankfully well adjusted (89,220)
by jaker20 from US

|

What's happening to Britney (God bless her and what she's going through) made me realize how surprisingly well adjusted Mariah is. For someone who has achieved so much fame and success, she still managed to be level headed, heading into the next phase of her life and career that she will be able to enjoy. All the love the tributes. Because many may have had great success but not many have been successful in enjoying it. If only all lambs can be like Mimi. I admit, sometimes I'm guilty too. But I do think it's time we mute the negative nancies here, because they will pull you into their mess and join in their misery. It's not always about being on top, but also enjoying what you have achieved, because in the end none of these matters but our health and happiness.

It does seem fitting that she's receiving the Icon award this year. It does feel like a full circle moment.

Guys, have you seen that? It's from 2017 BBC Even Better Than the Real Thing. I've never seen it before. Some of the impersonators are really good. No Mariah though. But still a lot of fun.

The Mariah-Billboard Music Awards relationship (89,213)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
It's all about the 9s. 20 years ago, Mariah delivered her most epic acceptance speech (and quite possibly the best acceptance speech ever) when she received the Artist of the Decade award in 1999. That same year, One Sweet Day was recognized as Song of the Decade, the same award We Belong together got 10 years later in 2009. Fast forward to today, Mariah is finally being honored for being the icon that she already has been since the 90s. This award was really meant for her to receive this year. It's full circle for her. She could have gotten it earlier but this truly feels like the best time for it. Congrats, Mariah. Finally. Congrats to Billboard as well for knowing how to properly end each decade with the best.

Veteran artists (89,212)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

I totally disagree with the writers assessment that tours should be a mix of an artists catalog. Personally this writer would be more interested in the Vegas residency as it focuses on the hits mainly. Personally I feel this tour was the true fan experience from the setlist standpoint and it was a home run in my opinion. I just feel like an artist should not be stifled creatively to appease critics or casual listeners.

Mariah's awards performance (89,211)
by Tevin from USA
| |
|
|
So I haven't posted in a while. I wanted to say, like all of you, I'm super excited about Mariah's upcoming performance, especially since this will be her night, sort of speak, since she will be receiving the Icon Award.
I try to take a step back and really think about what would make for a great performance. We all know she is probably going to perform a melody of hits. I believe Mariah needs to bring the energy to the stage like she did in the E=MC2 era. I think she should start off with the same intro and mix of IBLYLT/TBM then after her whistle ending, you hear "yo New York is in the house", and Steve should go into Fantasy, then, remix Anono, start of with Biggie's line, then she can go right into singing a no no, then to end, she definitely should end with ABMB. (It's one of her only 90s that's still in solid rotation. But she should end it with crowd participation in the song just like she did in Japan in 96. Leave on s solid note, everyone smiling and happy. 95% live signing and no gown or long dress, but jeans and a t-shirt.)

My tickets came with a disc or download. The problem is most of Mariah’s fans are older so they probably purchased the album and felt it was a waste to redownload it. The album only counts as a sale if you download them or request a copy which tbh I didn’t do because I already purchased 3 copies plus the vinyl. Also copies of the disc come with all merchandise.

MC wraps up her tour and now Lopez is having one. Celine just announced hers as well, but she's actually doing something so many of us wanted MC to do. She's including her new album into the ticket prices. It would've helped Caution a lot if Mariah did that.
